Alex Leoni explains his forgiveness to Will Jeffries
[During an interview, we have just seen a flashback from Will, showing how his wife Mary died in 1995.]
Leoni: They ever find that trucker?
Jeffries: No. But if they had, I might have killed him.
Leoni: I don't think so.
Jeffries: Why is that?
Leoni: Because you would have looked at him. And you would have seen some poor stiff who was driving the night shift, just trying to get home to his family. Too scared to stop and face what he did.
Jeffries: You defending what he did?
Leoni: No, I'm just saying that you probably would have seen right off, what it took me a long time to see in Angus. It was just an accident. The truth is, on a bad night it could've been you or me driving.
