Vera : So you're back in the hunt?
Scotty : Uh... I guess.
Vera : Well, a couple of nurses at st. Joe's, up for a night out.
Scotty : Your wife coming?

Lilly : I don't know. He did have some trouble at home this time last year.

Nick Vera and Will Jeffries have an argument :
Jeffries : Ever think there'd be one less murder if you'd worked this job right a year ago?
Vera : I worked a good case.
Jeffries : Look, you wanna be sloppy in your personal life, your marriage, you go ahead.
Vera : Don't you talk about my marriage.
Jeffries : But don't be a bum on this job.
Vera : (about the 1943 case) Skip it. No one cares.
Lilly : What's with you?
Jeffries : He's just happy. It's his anniversary.
I fought with my sister every time I tried to change the channel from the Hardy Boys, she'd shriek like a banshee.
Vera: So is the wedding off?
Valens: It's between them.
Vera: Mine was on and off three times.
The chimayo case is still a soft spot for Nick Vera (it was evoked in 2x02 Factory Girls too). George Marks knows how to make him angry:
George : Kind of like the chimayo case.
Nick : What's that?
George : Oh, I read those files, too, Nick. You screwed the pooch big time. Or rather, someone screwed a lot of juicy pooches because of you.
About Nick Vera and his wife Julie :
Vera : We haven't been doing so hot either. Me and Julie. (...) We wanted a baby. For a lot of years, but no go.
Megan : You talked to doctors?
Vera : Yeah, we tried all the stuff. And somewhere along the line, it killed off the love.

Nick Vera is filling an adoption application form.
At the beginning, Jeffries picks up Vera at a hotel, because he had a fight with his wife Julie. They have been married for 12 years.
They later decides to separate.
Lilly : I hate musicals.
Vera : Well, you wouldn't if you'd seen me as Danny Zuko in my eighth grade production of Grease.
Vera: So, Scotty, you coming with tonight?
Valens : Why, what's up?
Vera: Nurses.
Valens : Nice.
Lilly : Oh, milking that newfound bachelorhood, huh?
Vera: Every drop.
Seems like Nick Vera does not sleep at his place...
Valens : Figure on stretching that shirt out another day?
Vera : You want to check my shorts there too, hoss?
Nick Vera is sick of motel life and moves in a new apartment (in order to date different women ;-). He meets Andre, a black teenager that plays basket-ball at 6am in the street.
Nick Vera meets his neighbour Toni Halstead, a nurse ( Andre's mother).
Nick Vera starts dating Toni.
Nick Vera misses a date (ballet !) because of the job and Toni dumps him.
I loved high school. (...) I was a big hockey star.(...) First round at state. Scored the winning goal, MVP. Couldn't keep the girls off me.
Nick Vera is back with Toni. Tupac was playing on their first date.
Nick Vera is making effort for Toni.
Vera: I'm out of here at 5:00 today, so no dilly-dallying.
Kat: You a 5:00 p.m. man now? That Toni's doing?
Vera: Ah, figured I'd set a good example for Andre. Sit-down family dinners.
Nick Vera has to take Carla to a musicals to get sooner a ballistics report.
Nick Vera comes back with arms full of Tupperwares after an interview. He tries to resell some to Jeffries --without success. He ends up cleaning the squad fridge and using them there.
Nick Vera starts taking boxing lessons.
Nick Vera was a 22 year old police officer in 1989. His grand father taught him a little Russian.
Curses and Toasts
Toni had moved in with Nick, but she threw him out. Lilly surprises him washing up in the PPD women restrooms. Nick later confesses sleeping in PPD and after an unsuccessful search for a sleeping arrangement, Will Jeffries offers him a key to his place.
Nick is forced to get a physical examination after a picture of him passed out in a car came to Doherty's attention.
Vera has not taken the physical exam yet. He said he hasn't been to a doctor since 1980.
Vera finally has his physical exam with Dr Andiman. The result is very alarming (Do you have any idea what a liver failure looks like?) but he chooses to ignore it and visit another doctor, Dr McKenzie who easily gives him a clean bill of health.
Nick mentions his Russian grandfather.
His knowledge in Hockey is very useful. He plays Hockey in a veteran league.
Nick seems absorbed in an another unknown case and often falls asleep during the job.
Vera has been MIA: he reinvestigates an arson closed case of his from 2006, has a car accident while drunk, visits his ex-wife Julie and finally gives back his gun and his badge to Stillman.
Vera has been living in a special establishment. He is cleared out but Stillman does not want him to come back to work for the moment.
Megan Easton comes to "Nicky" because her family jewelry has been stolen. After his investigation, he tells her that her husband has been cheating on her and that he faked the theft to conceal it.
